Australian Energy Technologies is committed to providing quality products and services. This policy outlines the conditions under which a refund, replacement, or repair may be provided, strictly in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

1. YOUR RIGHTS UNDER THE AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW (ACL)

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the ACL. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

This policy does not seek to exclude, limit, or restrict the rights or remedies available to you under the ACL.

2. NO REFUND FOR CHANGE OF MIND

Australian Energy Technologies is under no obligation to provide a refund, exchange, or store credit if you simply change your mind, find the item cheaper elsewhere, or decide you no longer want the goods/services.

All purchases are final, except as required by the ACL.

3. REMEDIES FOR FAULTY OR DEFECTIVE GOODS

We will only process a refund, replacement, or repair where the item is faulty and has failed to meet a Consumer Guarantee under the ACL.

A. Major Failure (Customer Chooses Remedy)

A major failure is when the goods:

  • Have a problem that would have stopped someone from buying the item if they had known about it.

  • Are unsafe.

  • Are significantly different from the description, sample, or demonstration model.

  • Don't do what they were told they would, or what they are designed for, and the problem cannot be easily fixed.

If there is a major failure, you can choose to receive a refund or a replacement.

B. Minor Failure (Business Chooses Remedy)

A minor failure is a problem that can be fixed within a reasonable time.

  • If the failure is not major, we reserve the right to choose whether to repair or replace the item within a reasonable timeframe, at our cost.

  • If we fail to fix the minor problem within a reasonable time, you can then choose a refund or replacement.

4. STRICT CONDITIONS FOR ALL CLAIMS

All claims, including those for faulty goods, are subject to the following strict conditions:

  • Proof of Purchase is Mandatory: You must provide clear and verifiable proof of purchase (e.g., original receipt, bank statement, or order confirmation). Without this, we cannot process a claim.

  • Prompt Notification: You must notify Australian Energy Technologies of the issue within a reasonable time after the fault became apparent.

  • Assessment Required: All goods returned as faulty will be assessed by Australian Energy Technologies or an appointed third party. We reserve the right to deny a remedy if the fault is found to be caused by:

    • Misuse or abuse of the product.

    • Use of the product in a way contrary to the product's instructions.

    • Normal wear and tear.

    • Failure to take reasonable steps to prevent the problem.

5. RETURN SHIPPING COSTS

  • For Faulty/Defective Goods (ACL Claim): If we confirm the item has a major or minor failure, we will bear the reasonable cost of returning the item to us. You must keep receipts for all postage costs for reimbursement.

  • For Non-Faulty Returns (If offered): If we agree to accept a return outside of an ACL claim (e.g., for store credit as a goodwill gesture), you are solely responsible for all shipping and handling costs for the return.

6. EXCLUSIONS (Where No Refund/Remedy Applies)

In addition to change of mind, you are generally NOT entitled to a remedy under the ACL if:

  • You used the product in an abnormal or unreasonable way.

  • You were aware of the defect before purchasing the item (e.g., in a clearance or 'as is' sale, provided the fault was clearly communicated).

  • The product was damaged after you took possession of it.
